Equipment
- AeroPress with standard cap and paper filter
- Some nice light roasted coffee
- Your favorite coffee mug or carafe
- Modern hand grinder (e.g. 1ZPresso Qair)
- Some delicious water
- Water heating and pouring device
- Small scale with timer
Recipe
- Start heating at least 300 g water
- Weigh 15 g of coffee and grind somewhat corsely
- Add ground coffee to inverted aeropress
- Once water is boiled, start the timer and pour in 60 g of water slowly over 10-15 seconds.
If coffee cannot be controlled so well with your water heating device consider distributing flow more evenely with a FrankDrip
- Every 15 seconds, repeat the same 60 g pour until 240 g is achieved
- Wait 4-6 minutes
- Add cap and filter to inverted press and invert over coffee mug or carafe. If the stock cap does not fit inside the vessel consider reducing the outlet size with a One-of-One
- Gently press coffee in about 30-45 seconds until it is fully extracted from the press
- Let coffee cool to desired temperature, remove cap and eject grounds and paper filter into appropriate waste stream
- Drink coffee, experiment with different grinds
